Dog Agility Training Classes

Agility is a fun team sport, offering great mental and physical exercise for dogs and their owners. If you’re tired of obedience training, and want something new for your active dog, then agility training is a wonderful option! You and your dog will be trained to navigate through an obstacle course including apparatus such as weave poles, tunnels, jumps, the dog walk, and the A-frame. Your dog won’t be the only one learning something new! Dog owners are guided to become agility handlers, providing a fresh way to bond and communicate with your dog. Many of our dog and handler teams choose to enter competitive agility trials, earning AKC, NADAC and other agility titles.

Prerequisites & Eligibility

  • Your dog must be current on Bordetella, DHPP (at least one for puppies), Flu, and Rabies at 16 weeks and older, that have been administered by a veterinarian. We recommend pets receive these vaccines at least 2 weeks prior for full immunity, when possible.
  • To participate in a New Beginner class, dogs must have completed the puppy star or basic training class.
  • Continuing and Advanced classes are available for teams who are progressing in their agility skills. (You will be advised of which class to sign up for next, if interested in continuing your agility training skills.)
  • Unsure of which class is right for you? Contact your dog trainer, Jean Gauchat Hargis, for guidance.

Classes are one hour per week for 5 weeks. Please bring your dog every week. You will enjoy small class sizes, for individual attention.
